Great Ocean Road and Twelve Apostles

Melba Gully is a small surviving remnant of dense rainforest in the Great Otway National Park just past Cape Otway. The towering ancient trees drip with moss and giant tree ferns appear to hide prehistoric animals. This atmospheric park is a lovely place for family picnics and bushwalks.
If you can visit in the evening Melba Gully rewards you with the light show of a large colony of glow worms dancing along the walking track.
The Treetop Walk is a unique attraction which enables visitors to experience a 600 metre walk through beautiful warm temperate rainforest. Experience the sensation of being 25 metres above the forest floor. The walk commences at the visitor centre, which subtly introduces you to the rainforest, descending gently to the entry structure and onto the steel trussed tree walk.
The Otway Fly provides visitors of all ages and levels of mobility a unique and challenging experience at all times of the year.
Over 40 eruption points have been determined in the internationally significant Red Rock volcanic complex. Although currently dry, there are 7 major crater lakes within the scoria cones. Red Rock lookout, near Alvie, about 17 kilometres north of Colac, provides 360-degree views. On a clear day you can see a great display of other volcanic features including Mounts Elephant, Porndon and Sugarloaf, as well as the nearby Warrion Hill.
Some of the most numerous and impressive networks of dry stone walls in Australia are found on the western volcanic plains of Victoria. The walls, most of which are on private property, are beautifully crafted and have functional, aesthetic and heritage value.
Lake Elizabeth, hidden deep in the Otways near the township of Forrest, is an inspiring sight with heavily timbered flanks and calm waters punctuated by the trunks of dead trees, drowned when the valley was flooded.

Gellibrand General Store and Hotel
Gellibrand has a great general store that provides nice breakfast and lunch menus, and is right opposite Rex Norman Park that shows off the steep gradients traversed by the Beechy rail trail in its displays. The park has great BBQ facilities for travelers in the area.
The hotel's history dates back to the late 1860's, the existing premises were built in 1890 and is a treat to visit.
